Arlington, Texas - Allied Federal Credit Union’s employees recently donated $445.25 to their local Santa Cops program – a partnership between the Arlington Police Department, the Arlington Police Foundation and the Arlington Independent School District. The program provides toys and other supplies to children in need during the holidays.

"Here at Allied, we are well aware of the struggles and hardships families are faced with each holiday season,” said Jordanne Roper, teller and Casual for a Cause committee member. “Even more so considering the recent impact on the economy. We are honored to not only represent Arlington and Mansfield residents but also to support them during this season of giving.”

Allied FCU has a community outreach program called Casual for a Cause, which lets employees pay to wear casual clothes to work. That money gets donated to a different local cause every month. The cause is selected by the Casual for a Cause committee. They began the program in August by donating money to local schools for school supplies. Other organizations which have benefitted from the program include NEX and the Mansfield Fire Department.

“Our team is not only committed to community outreach during the holidays, we are committed to serving them all year long. The people who live and work here are also our members – our extended family,” said Katy Caldwell, another teller and committee member for Casual for a Cause.
