AlliedFCU Supports North Texas Giving Day with Donation to Arlington Life Shelter

October 8, 2025

Allied Federal Credit Union celebrated North Texas Giving Day in a big way this year by donating $600 and non-perishable grocery items to the Arlington Life Shelter. The shelter serves homeless individuals and families from throughout the DFW metroplex. Its mission is to promote self-sufficiency by providing shelter, employment programs and transitional services for North Texans impacted by homelessness. More than 30,000 homeless men, women and children have sought refuge at the Arlington Life Shelter over the past 37 years.

"What I love about Arlington Life Shelter is its focus on not just giving a handout, but giving a hand up,” said Tonia Clark, AlliedFCU CEO. “It doesn’t just provide the basic needs of food and shelter. It teaches people how to be self-sufficient, so when they leave the shelter, they have a chance to be successful in life. That’s a gift that keeps on giving.”

AlliedFCU made this donation as part of its Casual for a Cause initiative. The program enables credit union employees to pay for dressing casually at work. The money gets put in a fund which supports a different local cause each month. This year, in celebration of the credit union’s 60th anniversary, AlliedFCU has donated $600 each month to a different local charity.
