Allied FCU’s Great Gas Giveaway Helps Arlington, Mansfield Residents Pay for over $1,000 in Fuel

Earlier this month, Allied Federal Credit Union employees distributed gas cards at gas stations in the Arlington-Mansfield area. They randomly chose gas station customers and surprised them with $15 gas cards to help make their trips a little cheaper. Allied FCU and its employees donated over $1,000 to pay for the gas cards as part of the credit union’s Casual for a Cause program.
The credit union’s Casual for a Cause program lets employees pay to dress casually at work. All proceeds go toward a different local cause each month. A committee comprised of AlliedFCU employees chooses the supported causes, and for May, the committee chose “Allied’s Great Gas Giveaway”. They believed random acts of kindness would give people joy during difficult financial times.
“We live, work and shop in these communities just like everyone else, and we feel the pinch of rising prices with them. This is our way of making a difference today,” said Sarah Ramos, Allied Federal Credit Union’s AVP of Experience. “We hope our gas giveaway brought a smile to their faces and some relief to their wallets.”
